Museum Island of Berlin

The well-known Museum Island of Berlin, located on the River Spree right in the heart of the city, is one of the most important museums in the world.

The complex, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is made up of five prestigious museums that house archaeological and art collections.

During World War II much of the island's buildings were terribly damaged and some have recently completed their reforms.
